What is subway manila?

Subway Manila is a planned underground metro system that will serve the capital city of the Philippines, Manila. The project aims to provide a faster and more efficient means of transportation for the residents and visitors of Manila, who currently face a lot of traffic congestion and delays due to the limited road infrastructure in the city.

The construction of Subway Manila, also known as the Mega Manila Subway, started in February 2019 and is expected to be completed by 2025. The first phase of the project will have 15 stations and a total length of 36 kilometers. It will run from Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.

The subway system will be powered by a fully automated electric train system, which can transport up to 1.5 million passengers a day. The project is expected to reduce travel time by up to an hour, providing commuters a faster and more efficient means of transportation.

The project is also expected to generate around 140,000 jobs during the construction phase and create over 25,000 permanent jobs upon its completion. The overall cost of the project is estimated to be around $7 billion, making it one of the largest and most ambitious infrastructure projects in the Philippines.
